This week's update brings some updates to the more recent features that we've added to Magma. This includes our Homepage and Liquify, as well as the Selection tool. There have been a good few bug fixes too!

Homepage update

We've made some changes to the new Homepage so that you can easily spot remixes from the community and see more from the people you follow. You will notice that two tabs below the Featured section: one is Following and the other is Discover.

Text posts from people you follow also get their own tile now on the Following section of the Homepage.

Liquify update

The liquify tool now has a crosshair in the center. This brings some extra precision when using liquify at a small size or with a screenless tablet.

Selection update

The Selection tool got a unique menu on right-click. This adds another way for easy copying, deselection, and other selection actions.

If you wanted a way to share a specific part of the canvas in the chat, now you can. In that new Selection menu, you will find an Add selection to chat option. You can only send one image at a time this way and you might find it particularly useful on large multiboards when you are looking for feedback.

Bug Fixes

As usual, our engineering team is working hard to fix any bugs and issues found on the platform. Thank you to everyone who has reported bugs to us. Here's what we got this time:

  • Multiboard bug fixes

    • Fix incorrect scaling of board titles above 2.0 pixel ratio;

    • Fix canvas thumbnails sometimes not updating correctly;

    • Correctly inform users about multiboard not being supported in CPU mode;

    • Fix being able to post from multiboard (some users reported errors due to lack of recognized authors, we should get back to them saying it’s fixed);

    • Add context menu to "Add Board" tool;

    • Fix issues with eyedropper and moving/scaling boards at large zoom levels;

    • Fix eyedropper on other connected boards;

  • Fix mouse wheel not working when hovering over comment bubbles;

  • Fixed brush stroke tracker layout breaking on small devices;

  • Fix first revision on the list being broken and not displaying correctly;

  • Fix positioning of warning about mature content;

  • Fixed a bug where artspace icon wasn't available when opening artspace drawing;

  • Fix some users not seeing layer list when opening canvas in read-only editor from gallery;

  • Fixed issue causing more frequent read-only mode or lost graphics errors;

As always, let us know what you think — feel free to send us your Feature Requests, reach out to us on Discord or send us a message.
