We're approaching the end of the year but the Magma team charges on, bringing some new updates to the platform this month. In our latest update, we have a couple of fresh brushes, a new creator brush pack, plus a brush setting that unlocks new possibilities. Read on for more…

A few new brushes

We're gradually evolving our brush engine, and with that, the variety of brush possibilities expands. With this update, we've added two standard brushes:

  • Vine - ideal for gesture drawing and getting a hard edge on one side, and a soft one on the other. The angle of the brush changes based on the tilt of your pen;

  • Round bristle - this is meant to feel like a bristle brush, which thickens out as you apply more pressure;

You will also see more brushes in your list that use our new dual brush setting which we'll look at in the next section…

Changes:

  • Added Vine brush to Sketch and Chalk category

  • Added Round Bristle brush to Textured category

  • Added new brush shapes

  • Added new Dual category to brush list

Dual Brush Setting

Inside the advanced brush settings, you will find a new section for Dual Brush. This lets you combine two brush shapes together to get more interesting and textured brush strokes. When active, the main brush shape becomes a mask, and the selected dual brush shape is the one that gets stamped.

You'll find many of the same settings available for your secondary brush shape. Experiment with different settings and create your own unique brush. Remember to save it! We also have some new brushes that utilize the dual brush setting already loaded into your brush list. There are:

Changes:

  • Added new Dual Brushes to the Sketch and Chalk and Textured categories

New Creator Brush Pack - Wynter

We're continuing to explore ways of supporting skilled creators on the platform. We've seen you enjoying the recent Orb brushes, and now we have our first paid brush pack from another wonderful artist: Wynter.

This brush pack features 12 versatile brushes suitable for rendering, sketching, and texture work. it allows artists to achieve the vibrant, illustrative style seen in Wynter's own work— soft colors, expressive strokes, and rich textures that bring illustrations to life. By purchasing this pack, users directly support Wynter as a creator.

Bug Fixes

As usual, our engineering team is working hard to fix any bugs and issues found on the platform. Thank you to everyone who has reported bugs to us. Here's what we got this time:

  • Fix birthday check not allowing certain months

  • Fix twitter oauth for signup and login

  • Fix spacing for submenu arrows

As always, let us know what you think — feel free to send us your Feature Requests, reach out to us on Discord or send us a message.
