Welcome to our April release update. We’re excited to annouce a big feature this month that team has been hard at work on this for a while. At long last, Galleries are now a part of your Magma profile and available to all users!

Your User Gallery

You can find your gallery by tapping on your avatar in the top right corner and selecting View my Gallery. From here you can add images from recent canvases you've drawn in. You can read more in our full Profile Gallery guide.

Posting to gallery

You can post to your gallery in two ways: from your profile page or directly from the canvas through the Share button.

When posting from your profile, you can choose from drawings in your Artdesk or Art Jams that you’ve hosted and participated in.

Please note that NSFW content is not currently permitted in profile galleries and images that can be considered inappropriate or offensive for our wider community may be removed by our team.

Many have asked for the ability to post selections and cropped areas of a canvas. This functionality is already in the works and will be released to everyone soon!

Updated user tooltip

For some added flair to the user tooltip, it will now display 4 images from their gallery. Now you can get a glimpse of the drawings that other people do without having to leave your canvas. For now, these are the last 4 images that were posted. An update for pinned images is on the way already for this.

Viewing other user’s galleries

To make it quicker to get to another user's gallery, we've also added a View Gallery button to the user tooltip.

When you get there, tapping on an image will load a larger view of it with more information like a title and description and who collaborated on the drawing.

Shoutout to our beta testers

We're glad to have an awesome group of people helping to test our new features, suggest improvements, and report bugs. Many of them have already added pieces to their gallery. You should give them a follow!

Ryan, Cybernaut, Anya Robbins, Frank V, Hopenalive, basalmegvinegar, Nexus, qwertykirby, Sad_banana, sainnetry, Wens, Yaga, Wynter, Roves, Beastkonoha, and FoldingSolid

Also… be sure to follow the official Magma profile for news about our community and features.

Bug fixes and improvements

Along with new features, the team has also been hard at work with various bug fixes and improvements. In particular, we've been focusing on Art Jams loading times and performance of the Live Now section. Thank you to everyone that reported bugs recently. Some specific things we've fixed include:

  • Reference window carousel not working;

  • Gallery image collaborators not updating;

  • Incorrect color pixels around edges of color dodge layers;

  • Incorrect wording on Billing page;

  • Still able to use certain tools on hidden and locked layers;

  • Various UI improvements;

  • Age selector for Art Jams redesigned slightly.

We've also improved text input for profiles, art jam and project descriptions, and gallery posts. Now you can add some basic styling to your descriptions and posts

We are still seeing a few users reporting issue with Art Jams. iPad users should check for a system update. This has solved the problem for a few users. If you are on a Chromebook, or still experiencing the issue on a different device, please contact our Support team.

That's all for now…we've got more exciting features to build! Be sure to join the Magma Discord server to be a part of product discussions and news about what’s coming next. See you on the canvas!
