How to draw together online
It takes about a minute, and it works the same on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux and tablets.
Create a free account
Sign up with Google, Discord or email. Everyone who wants to draw needs their own free account, so send your friends here too.
Start a canvas
Create a new canvas. Planning something bigger, like a comic or a class project? Open a Multiboard: an infinite board with many canvases side by side.
Share the link
Copy the canvas link and drop it in your group chat or Discord server. Everyone who opens it lands on the same picture.
Draw and talk
Turn on voice chat, or type if you'd rather not talk. Each of you paints on your own layers, so you can work side by side without wiping out each other's lines.
Keep what you made
Everything saves to the cloud as you draw. Export a PNG or JPEG to post, or a layered PSD to keep working in another app.
Why draw together in Magma

Talk while you draw
Every canvas has voice chat and text chat built in, so you don't need a separate call running while you paint. Chat about the picture, leave a comment right on the canvas, or just hang out.

Zero input lag
Your own strokes are drawn on your device the instant you make them, even with blending brushes, so nothing waits for the server. Your friends' strokes appear live as they paint.

Room for the whole group
Up to 30 artists can draw on one canvas on the free plan, and 50 on Blaze. Bigger crowd? A Multiboard puts many canvases side by side on one infinite board and holds hundreds of artists.

Real painting tools, free
Pen pressure and tilt, brushes that blend like paint, a stabilizer, and up to 60 layers with 16 blend modes and clipping on the free plan. Paint online in Magma

Works where you draw
In the browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook and tablets. There's a desktop app for Windows and Mac (Apple Silicon), and on a tablet or phone you can add Magma to your home screen so it opens like an app. Drawing on a Chromebook

Plays well with your other apps
Export a layered PSD for free, or start a new board from a PSD and keep its layers, so a friend can finish the piece in Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint. Coming from Photoshop? See how Magma compares.
What you can draw together
Hang out with friends
Doodle while you talk, draw each other's characters, or make a birthday piece for someone in the group. In Japan this has its own name: the drawing chat (絵チャ).
Duo drawings and collabs
One of you sketches and the other colors. Or split the canvas down the middle and draw the same character in both your styles.
Art Jams with new people
Join a live or scheduled Art Jam, where artists from around the world paint on one canvas around a theme. New to it? Read Art Jam etiquette.
Artspaces
Find your people in an Artspace. It's a bit like Discord for artists: chat channels, voice and events built around the art you care about.
Comics and webtoons
On a Multiboard, each page or strip gets its own canvas on one infinite board, so a team can lay out a comic, a webtoon or a zine and see the whole thing at once.
Classes and art clubs
Share one link and the whole class draws on the same board, school Chromebooks included.
A shared sketchpad
Not every canvas has to become a finished painting. Sketch ideas for a game jam, plan a mural or a group project, and paint notes right next to the work.

Aggie.io is now Magma
Magma started life as Aggie.io, a free site for drawing with friends. The people who built Aggie built Magma, and Aggie grew into it. aggie.io now redirects to magma.com, and the Aggie and Magma communities are one community.
The idea hasn't changed: make a canvas, share the link, draw together. What's new is everything around it: pen pressure and brushes that blend like paint, layers with blend modes, voice chat on every canvas, Art Jams, Artspaces and a community gallery. 5M+ artists draw on Magma today.
Coming back from Aggie? In Magma, everyone who draws needs a free account. Drawing together is free on the Spark plan, and Blaze is an optional paid plan for bigger canvases and groups. Magma has no generative AI tools: everything on a canvas is drawn by the people on it. Read our AI Art Manifesto.
Looking for a drawing game?
Guessing games like skribbl.io give you rounds and scores. Magma is a shared canvas instead, and artists host their own games on it every day. Open the Art Jams and you will find challenges like these:
Creators film them too: pikat’s Squid Game-style art challenge on YouTube, and Nounish’s draw together, but apart series on TikTok, where two artists get different prompts and share one canvas without talking. For guessing games and canvas sites side by side, see the best sites to draw with friends online.

- Magma is always online: every stroke saves to the cloud, so you need an internet connection. There's no offline mode.
- There are no layer groups, layer masks or animation timeline yet.
