Welcome to another Magma update! This week, we have added pen tilt support, updated Japanese translations, and updated ad tests. We've also announced a new contest recently: Eye of the Storm. Best of luck to all who are participating in that.
Now, for more details on what we've been working on…
New Change: Brush Tilts

As a platform, we've received several requests to upgrade our brush engine on Magma. In response to this (and to pave the way for more brush-related updates in the future!), we are planning to improve our brush engine over the next couple of weeks.
To start, this week we are happy to announce that we are now giving users the option to map brush properties to tilt. Should your stylus support it, you can now tilt the shape of the brush with your stylus.
This can be enabled in 'Advanced Brush Settings' when you have either the brush, blending tool, or eraser selected. We look forward to seeing how this improves your drawing experience.

Changes:
New Update - Brush Tilt Support: You can now map brush properties to tilt. If enabled on your brush, tilting your stylus will now rotate the shape of the brush you are drawing with.
New Change: Updated Japanese Translations

Following the Tokyo Game Show, the team received some feedback that the current Japanese translations could be improved.
As a result, we've updated our Japanese translations to make them more understandable. 新しい日本語訳をお楽しみいただければ幸いです。

[BETA] New Updates: Ads
It's been a while since the team has updated everyone on our monetisation strategy. As a platform, to keep Magma's core features free, the team has been testing different places to incorporate ads on our platform, as an alternative to putting drawing tools behind premium subscriptions.
A few months ago, we received feedback that ads are lowering user experiences on Magma, making the platform quite laggy. Furthermore, we also had feedback that the previous placement of ads was very disruptive to user experiences.
In response to these changes, the team has worked to address both of these issues. On the backend, we've incorporated changes to lower the strain on devices. On the user-facing side, we've enabled a toggle that would allow users to move the placement of the ad to a location that they find least disruptive. We have more on it here.

Although not available for everyone at the moment, some users may find ads on their accounts. If so, we would love to hear your feedback - we don't want ads to negatively impact artist experiences on our platform, and we will work hard to address as many issues as we can.

Bug Fixes
As usual, our engineering team is working hard to fix any bugs and issues found on the platform. Thank you to everyone who has reported bugs to us. Here's what we got this time:
Fix search field disappearing when assigning roles in an artspace
Fix issue with clipped avatar in user cursor on higher pixel ratios
Fix positioning of board titles on rotated and flipped view of multiboard
As always, let us know what you think — feel free to send us your Feature Requests, reach out to us on Discord or send us a message.
