Welcome to another May update with more being added to Artspaces. We're excited about the communities of artists on Magma who regularly get together to create amazing art and drive interesting discussions. And we want to keep nurturing that in various ways. Enter this month's update with Artspace discovery and even a way to create private channels for specific roles.

Artspace Listing Page
We've been sharing tips over in the Official Magma Artspace to help you get started with your own one so that you can grow a thriving community on the platform. It's all been building up to this: the Artspace Listing page. Now you can find your community of artists that share the same interests as you. Look for the new Artspace discovery icon in your left toolbar or go to https://magma.com/artspaces/discover

For now, we’re listing Artspaces that already have some great momentum, are well-managed, or show exiciting potential. These include our own official and beta Artspaces, a few by Magma Creators, and a couple of fandoms you might enjoy. Yours could be there too and we have some tips to help you get your Artspace to the right level.
Make it more than just a casual space for friends: Have a clear focus or theme for the space.
Organize it: Set up different channels for different purposes and have one for your Artspace rules.
Get Admins: Find a trusted person to help you manage your Artspace.
Set permissions: Create custom roles with specific permissions in your Artspace settings.
Set it to Public: Artspaces must be set to public with either Open or Request to Join enabled.
Engage your new members: Be sure to welcome people as they join and plan your next drawing hangout. Try hosting a public Art Jam to grow your membership too.
Over time, we'll be adding more Artspaces to this list and if you want yours to be considered, please be sure to fill out THIS FORM to tell us more about it.

Artspace Channel Roles
You can now allow access to a channel based on the role that an Artspace member has. There are some important steps to set this up. Please be sure to read our user guide for this feature for more information.
When you create a new channel, or edit an existing one, you will see a new Who can access this channel setting. It can be visible or all members, or you can restrict it to specific roles that you choose. Use this to create a dedicated space for your admins, or maybe a channel just for news and announcements.

Bux fixes and improvements
As usual, our engineering team is working hard to fix any bugs and issues found on the platform. While we aim to catch bugs before new features are released, some can sneak through. Thank you to everyone who reports these issues to us. Here are some of the improvements we've made recently:
Fixed receiving comment notifications;
Added Traditional Chinese as language;
Fixed issue with joining Open Artspaces;
Removed the chat box in login and signup pages;
As always, let us know what you think. feel free to send us your Feature Requests, reach out to us on Discord or send us a message.
