Welcome to our first update for April! We hope that you’ve had a good week so far, and that this update makes it even better. We have two new additions to Magma for you, including a full blocking feature and depth controls for your textured brushes. Read on to find out more…
User Blocking

We’ve made it easier for you to ban people from your canvases and Artspaces, and even block their profiles completely. This is a long-requested feature since we released user profiles, and a necessary one as we build more social features into Magma.
Depending on the situation, you will have one or more of the following blocking options:
Block user
Block from canvas
Block from Artspace
When it comes to blocking a user completely, you can do this from the user profile or the participant’s list on your canvas. This will block most forms of interaction with each other’s content:

they cannot view your profile or content;
they cannot join canvases or Art Jams that you own;
you cannot see each other’s chats on the same canvas.
Blocking from canvas or from Artspace is fairly self-explanatory. This immediately kicks a user from the current drawing and Artspace, and prevents them from rejoining.
We hope this goes a long way to improving your experience of Magma, allowing you to take more effective action when you need to. You can read more about this in our Blocking user guide.
Brush texture improvements

We recently released the Texture setting for your brushes. Now we’re adding new settings for it, specifically: Depth control and more blend modes.
Depth control lets you use either pressure or tilt to adjust the texture's depth. When you have a low depth value for the texture, your brush looks more solid or has less texture. As you increase it, the texture becomes more apparent. When using pressure as a control, it starts with a more visible texture, but the depth reduces as you press harder.

For texture blend modes, height and linear height have been added to the list. Give it a try and remember to save your brush once you find an interesting combination of settings.
Bux fixes and improvements
As usual, our engineering team is working hard to fix any bugs and issues found on the platform. These have been more on the backend though recently and not visible on the user side. While we aim to catch bugs before new features are released, some can sneak through. You can report those to us by reaching out to us on Discord or sending us a message.
