This week's update brings an exciting new feature that has been highly requested. Magma's new Liquify tool will make it easier for you to adjust your image or a character's proportions. We've also made some improvements to chat as we prepare for a future release.

Liquify

The liquify tool pushes pixels in the direction following your stroke. When you flip your canvas and notice that the proportions aren't looking quite right, Liquify lets you nudge in the edges of a character's face, or push down the brow, for example.

For now, Liquify only has a push mode, but we'd love to hear from you if there are other modes for it that you find helpful in your process.

You can read more about it in the Liquify user guide.

Chat update

We've been working on some broad improvements to the chat feature in the app. This includes an auto-complete for emojis and tagging users, as well as being able to remove and edit messages that you've sent.

To get emojis, start with a colon symbol (:) and then type the rest and select the emoji you want.

The same goes for tagging people in your chat. Start with the at symbol (@) followed by the username. Then click or tap on the user you want to mention.

If you make a mistake with a message that you sent, you can now edit or completely remove it.

Move Tool Settings

The Move tool in Magma has a few small changes too. We've added some additional options for when you are in Multboard view to make more precise changes to positioning.

Bug Fixes

As usual, our engineering team is working hard to fix any bugs and issues found on the platform. Here's what we got this time:

  • Show the full list of remixes even if above 50 (previously, only the first 50 were shown)

  • Fix not being able to switch between tabs on the user profile

  • Fix the canvas name change in the layer panel on Multiboard not reflected in the drawing settings modal

  • Fix switching from Artspaces to Art Jams page

  • Fix not being able to change the value of some inputs in Text Tool advanced settings pane

As always, let us know what you think — feel free to send us your Feature Requests, reach out to us on Discord or send us a message.
