Hello everyone! We hope you had a great time with “In the Depths!” It's been quite a hectic few weeks with LightBox, but we are finally ready to announce our next Magma competition! Get ready to be blown away: introducing our next collaborative art competition - Eye of the Storm, sponsored by Huion!

Huion is an innovator, designer, and manufacturer of pen tablets, pen displays, pen computers, and other related accessories of the Kamvas and Inspiroy series. Huion’s dedication to empowering creativity with high-quality devices makes them a perfect partner for the Magma community, and they are here to support your artistic journey. Some members of our team own Huion devices, which we highly recommend.

The challenge will end at 12:00 pm CET on November 25th, 2025! Make sure to submit your entries before the deadline!

Contest Details:

• The theme this month is Eye of the Storm.

• This competition is collaborative; therefore, you must create a team of 2 to 3 people to compete in this challenge.

• There is no fee to enter the Contest.

• By entering this contest, you grant Magma the right to use your submitted work in promotional materials, including emails, social media posts, and other marketing efforts. You will be credited wherever your work is featured. When we announce the winners, we want to include their work in our emails notifying our Magma users of the event.

• By entering this contest, the entrants agree to be bound by the submission guidelines set out below.

How to win?

Like last time, there are two sets of prizes. Our main set of winners will be determined by our panel of judges: Ryan, Nexus, and Jens!

Should you compete, you will be judged according to the following criteria:

• Collaboration (Score from 1 to 10): How cohesive was the art piece? How well did the individual artists work together?

• Originality (Score from 1 to 10): How creative is the artwork?

• Visual Clarity and Presentation (Score from 1 to 10): How visually clear and well-executed is the final piece? How well has the team mastered its craft?

• Theme Interpretation (Score from 1 to 10): How clearly and well did it address the competition’s theme?

However, outside of our main set of winners, we are also hosting a community challenge, where the winner will be determined by the highest amount of likes a submitted piece has.

Note: If you win a main prize, you will be ineligible for the community challenge prize.

Submissions may be disqualified if the rules below are not followed

Awards:

• 1st Place: $100 USD in Mags and a Kamvas Slate 11 per member

• 2nd Place: $50 USD in Mags and a Huion Note per member

• 3rd Place: $20 USD in Mags and a Inspiroy 2 S per member

• Community Prize (Most amount of likes): $50 USD for each team member

Eligibility

1. The minimum age to participate is 13 years old. Participants aged 13 to 18 must have parent or guardian approval to enter.

2. Entrants 18+ can directly receive prize payouts. Entrants under 18 must have an adult or guardian handle the prize payout on their behalf.

How to Enter:

1. Create a team of 2 to 3 people that you wish to compete with.

2. Create your canvas on Magma.com. This can either be in a public art jam or a private canvas. There are no penalties or benefits for creating the canvas in either location.

   1. The Theme is Eye of the Storm. Feel free to interpret this description as creatively as possible: remember that scoring for Theme Interpretation is based on both clarity and originality: creative interpretations will be rewarded so long as the interpretation of the theme is clear.

3. Collaborate with your team members to turn your vision into reality. Note that your collaborative score will only be based on the collaborative efforts between your team members (therefore, if you create your competition piece as an art jam and others outside of your team add to it, your score will not be affected).

4. One team member must share the final piece on social media. You only need to share it on one platform.

   1. Instagram: #MagmaEyeOfTheStorm and tag Huion and Magma in the post (@huiontablet and @magma_com).

   2. X: #MagmaEyeOfTheStorm and tag Huion and Magma in the post (@HuionTab and @magma_com)

   3. Bluesky: #MagmaEyeOfTheStorm and tag Magma in the post (@magma-com.bsky.social)

5. Submit your final piece via this link: https://magma.art/eye-of-the-storm. Should you wish to compete for the community prize, one team member must share their completed canvas on their profile and mention it in the form**.**

   1. All entries submitted for the community prize will be included in an email sent out to Magma’s userbase.

Delivery of Prizes:

1. Prize payouts will be made to adults (18+) via Tipalti in alignment with Tipalti’s Terms of Use. Tablet payouts will be distributed directly by Huion or by Magma for harder-to-reach geographies.

2. Prizes cannot be shipped to winners residing in countries or regions subject to ongoing U.S. sanctions, and those residing in countries not covered by Tipalti and/or Huuray Terms of Use. Affected winners will be notified individually.

3. Winners who fail to provide the necessary shipping & billing details will lose eligibility for the prize. Due to Know Your Customer guidelines, you will be required to submit your first name, last name, and contact email at a minimum to receive your prize.

Additional Rules:

1. Magma reserves the right to disqualify entries suspected of violating the rules or artificially inflating engagement. Final decisions will be made at the discretion of the Magma team.

2. The Contest is not open to companies, educational institutions, organisations, etc. or to groups associated with such institutions.

3. Staff, Board members, and their immediate family are not eligible to enter the Contest.

4. All submitted work must be 100% drawn on Magma without the use of third-party platforms or AI.

5. All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-existing artworks or copyrighted characters.

6. All submitted work must not include 18+ or other inappropriate and/or inflammatory content. Interpretation of what falls into the above category is in the sole discretion of the contest organiser.

7. All submitted work must not be subject to foul play (creating fake accounts to like the post, harassing other users, etc.).
