In line with this, we’re happy to announce our next art jam competition to celebrate this special occasion - New Beginnings, sponsored by Huion!

Huion is an innovator, designer, and manufacturer of pen tablets, pen displays, pen computers, and other related accessories. Huion’s dedication to empowering creativity with high-quality devices, like the Kamvas and Inspiroy series, makes them a perfect partner for the Magma community, and they are here to support your artistic journey. Some members of our team own Huion devices, which we highly recommend.

To account for end-of-year festivities, we are giving you all 5 extra days for this competition. The challenge will end at 12:00 pm CET on January 13th, 2026! Make sure to submit your entries before the deadline!

Contest Details:

• The purpose of this contest is to create amazing art jams to be enjoyed by Magma’s community.

• There is no fee to enter the Contest.

• There will be a theme for this art jam. The theme is ‘New Beginnings.’

• This competition is collaborative; therefore, you must create a team of 2 to 3 people to compete in this challenge. Like ‘World’s Colliding’ and ‘In the Depths’ in the past, you must create a collaborative art jam - the level of contributions from others, alongside your team’s drawing, will be assessed.

  • Note: Collaborative score is NOT dependent on the quality of the contributors alone. Should you want a reference, please see the past winners here:

• By entering this contest, you grant Magma the right to use your submitted work in promotional materials, including emails, social media posts, and other marketing efforts. You will be credited wherever your work is featured. When we announce the winners, we want to include their work in our emails notifying our Magma users of the event.

• By entering this contest, the entrants agree to be bound by the submission guidelines set out below.

How to win?

There are two sets of prizes. Our main set of winners will be determined by our panel of judges: Nexus, Lielurr, Flooferman and Huion!

Should you compete, you will be judged according to the following criteria:

• (25%) Collaboration (Score from 1 to 10): Does the art jam look like multiple artists were involved? Did the team members and other artists work together?

• (25%) Visual Clarity and Presentation (Score from 1 to 10): How visually clear and well-executed is the final piece? How well has the team mastered its craft?

• (25%) Organisation (Score from 1 to 10): How organised was the art jam? Did the team members create the jam in a way that coordinates the participants? Could people participate if they joined later, or could only early joiners draw on the art jam?

• (15%) Theme Interpretation (Score from 1 to 10): How clearly and well did it address the competition’s theme?

• (10%) Originality (Score from 1 to 10): How creative is the artwork?

However, outside of our main set of winners, we are also hosting a community challenge, where the winner will be determined by the highest amount of likes a submitted piece has.

• Winner determined by the highest amount of likes a submitted entry has on the host’s Magma profile

  • Note: If you win a main prize, you will be ineligible for the community challenge prize.

Judge Showcase:

Submissions may be disqualified if the rules below are not followed.

Awards:

• 1st Place: $100 USD in Mags and a Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) for each team member

• 2nd Place: $50 USD in Mags and an Inspiroy Dial 2 for each team member

• 3rd Place: $20 USD in Mags and an Inspiroy Frego S for each team member

• Community Prize: $50 USD in Mags for each team member

Eligibility

1. The minimum age to participate is 13 years old. Participants aged 13 to 18 must have parent or guardian approval to enter.

2. Entrants 18+ can directly receive prize payouts. Entrants under 18 must have an adult or guardian handle the prize payout on their behalf.

How to Enter:

1. Create a team of 2 to 3 people that you wish to compete with.

2. Create your Art Jam on Magma.com. When creating the art jam, you must put the following disclaimer in the description: “This Art Jam is being submitted to Magma’s Art Jam Competition, sponsored by Huion: https://magma.art/new-beginnings. By participating, you are allowing your art to be submitted in the host’s competition entry.”

   1. The Theme is ‘New Beginnings.’ Feel free to interpret this description as creatively as possible. Your art jam does not need to be titled ‘New Beginnings.’

3. Once you start your art jam, one team member must submit the art jam link and a list of the team member’s public profiles via this link: https://magma.art/new-beginnings-submission

4. Once you’ve completed your piece team member must share the final art jam on social media, and they must follow Magma and Huion to be eligible.

   1. Instagram: #MagmaNewBeginnings and tag Huion and Magma in the post (@huiontablet and @magma_com).

   2. X: #MagmaNewBeginnings and tag Huion and Magma in the post (@HuionTab and @magma_com)

   3. Bluesky: #MagmaNewBeginnings and tag Magma in the post (@magma-com.bsky.social)

5. Should you wish to compete for the community prize, one team member must also share the link to their public gallery with the art jam posted on their profile via this link: https://magma.art/new-beginnings-community.

Delivery of Prizes:

1. Prize payouts will be made in Mags, which may be exchanged for currency by adults (18+) via Tipalti in alignment with Tipalti’s Terms of Use. Tablet payouts will be distributed directly by Huion or by Magma for harder-to-reach geographies.

2. Huion reserves the right to substitute tablet prizes for ones of equal or greater value if the original prize is not available for any reason.

3. Winners who fail to provide the necessary billing details will lose eligibility for the prize. Due to Know Your Customer guidelines, you will be required to submit your first name, last name, and contact email at a minimum to receive your prize.

Additional Rules:

1. Magma reserves the right to disqualify entries suspected of violating the rules or artificially inflating engagement. Final decisions will be made at the discretion of the Magma team.

2. The Contest is not open to companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. or to groups associated with such institutions.

3. Staff, Board members, and their immediate family are not eligible to enter the Contest.

4. All submitted work must be 100% drawn on Magma without the use of third-party platforms or AI.

5. All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-existing artworks or copyrighted characters.

6. All submitted work must not include 18+ or other inappropriate and/or inflammatory content. Interpretation of what falls into the above category is in the sole discretion of the contest organizer.

7. All submitted work must not be subject to foul play (creating fake accounts to like the post, harassing other users, etc.).
