Magma Community Guidelines

Effective date: Nov 12th, 2025

Magma’s Community Guidelines: As a creative space dedicated to collaborative artistic expression, Magma’s community guidelines ensure that everyone can express themselves, whilst making the place safe and welcoming for creators, artists, and their fans. To use Magma, creators, artists, and fans must follow these rules to create a positive environment in Magma. Magma’s support team regularly reviews reports by users, moderators, trusted third parties, or when required by government agencies. When violations are identified, Magma reserves the right to take enforcement steps based on severity, and may consider off-platform behaviours when making assessments for community guideline violations.

As a platform with a variety of ways to interact with creators, artists, and fans, Magma has different community guidelines depending on where interactions take place. To ensure the safety of Magma’s community, certain behaviours that may be allowed in private spaces may not be allowed in public settings. To view location-specific guidelines, please refer to Section 2, “Location-specific Guidelines,” of Magma’s Community Guidelines.

Should you suspect that Magma’s community guidelines have been violated, please contact the Magma team at support@magma.com or report the user directly with a description detailing the violation.

Section 1: Universal Guidelines:

Hate Speech, Terrorism, and Extremism:

As an international creative community, Magma is a platform that welcomes diverse viewpoints and debates. However, Magma does not welcome Hate Speech, Terrorism, or Violent Extremism. • Drawings or Imagery of Hate Speech: Swastikas, SS Bolts, Happy Merchants, etc.

  • Hate Speech in User Profiles: Profile Images, Username/Display Name, Gallery Uploads, Profile Descriptions, etc.

Magma may allow for exceptions to this policy for satirical, educational, or historical purposes, but satirical, educational, or historical displays of Hate Speech must be obvious to Magma and other users before the actions occur. Retroactively claiming satire or educational content to deflect blame is strictly prohibited.

Bullying and Harassment:

Magma is committed to creating a safe environment, as Harassment and Bullying can cause real physical and psychological harm. Magma strives to create a welcoming community, and by joining Magma, creators, artists, and their fans are expected to be respectful with one another.

Bullying and Harassment are inclusive of the following in written and graphical formats, in drawings, communications, and user profiles:

  • Actions meant to harm or mock individuals: Actions that are meant to harm or mock individuals, including those deceased, are not allowed. This is inclusive of actions that internationally disrupt others when drawing, calling, or talking with one another.

  • Sexual Harassment: Unwanted behaviour of sexual nature, inclusive of unconsented sexual depictions of individuals, the sending of sexual content to unconsenting individuals, and making sexual remarks about someone’s body, clothing, or appearance without their consent, is strictly prohibited.

  • Disclosing Information Without the Individual’s Prior Consent: Disclosing private information about an individual without their prior consent, inclusive of their name, age, gender identity, phone number, address, or otherwise, is strictly prohibited.

  • Dogpiling: Coordinated harassment against users is strictly prohibited, inclusive of coordinated harassment in feed or gallery posts, mass targeting of users in drawings, or mass reporting users with malicious intent.

  • Coordinating on or off-platform harassment: Actions coordinating attacks against individuals, whether on or outside of Magma, are strictly prohibited. Unintended actions that accidentally lead to coordinated attacks against individuals may also be removed.

Harmful Acts:

Magma strictly prohibits activities that promote dangerous or self-destructive physical, mental, or emotional actions. While raising public awareness is important, creators, artists, and their fans are expected to do so respectfully and responsibly. Remember, Magma is not a mental health resource - if you or someone you know is struggling, please contact a mental health resource in your area.

  • Dangerous Acts or Challenges: Actions that encourage dangerous acts or challenges are strictly prohibited on Magma, alongside other dangerous activities that glorify or promote instructional advice on how to behave in a way that can lead to serious injury or death. Online safety is important - remember that Magma is an art site, not a dating or stunt platform.

  • Suicide or Self-harm: Magma does not allow works, whether written or visual, that express a clear intent to engage in or normalise suicide or self-harm. This is inclusive of actions that discourage individuals from seeking treatment or the sharing of self-harm materials to trigger self-harm responses. Written or artistic depictions of suicide or self-harm are permitted depending on location, and may be allowed if done for educational, artistic, or fictional purposes; however, they must be done in a respectful manner that does not incite others to commit similar acts. Please note that depictions of aesthetic or body modifications unrelated to self-harm or self-injury (battle/injury scars, tattoos, piercings, or mechanical or physical modifications, etc.) are allowed.

  • Impersonation: Magma does not allow for the impersonation of real-life individuals. Fan accounts are permitted on Magma, but they must clearly show that they are not the individual that they are impersonating. If an account is suspected of being an impersonation of an existing individual, the account may be taken down. If you are a creator who suspects that you are being impersonated, please contact us at support@magma.com. Similarly, if you are a creator whose account was taken down under suspicion of impersonation, please also contact us at support@magma.com

Illegal Activities:

Magma strictly prohibits illegal activity. As Magma has a global audience, the rules contained within the community guidelines are not inclusive of all rules and regulations you have to follow. Creators, artists and fans are responsible for following local laws when operating on the site. Magma reserves the right to act upon any activity suspected of being illegal on the site at any time, and to report accounts and content to law enforcement if required.

As an artistic platform, artistic depictions of illegal activities are allowed. However, Magma strictly prohibits actions that encourage creators, artists, and fans to commit illegal acts. Finally, please note that even if an act is not considered illegal by local regulations but is included in Magma’s Community Guidelines, it is still prohibited on the platform.

  • Crime and Criminal Activity: Crimes and Criminal activities are strictly prohibited on Magma. As covered above, depictions of illegal activities are allowed on Magma in both written and visual formats. However, actions that are illegal or instruct individuals on how to commit illegal acts in detail are not allowed on the site.

  • Health: Artistic and written depictions of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana are allowed on Magma. However, any activities encouraging the use of illegal drugs or the irresponsible use of drugs and/or other consumables (overeating, hazardous materials, etc.) are not allowed on Magma.

  • Gambling: Creators, artists, and fans may not use Magma to gamble in exchange for money, other exchanges of value (cryptocurrencies and other products that may be exchanged for real-world currency or goods), or Mags, nor may they use Magma to provide access or encourage others to gamble with other third parties. However, certain chance-related actions, such as random giveaways, art surprises, or other similar actions, are permitted so long as entry is not locked behind the acceptance of goods with real-world value and prizes of real-world value are not awarded.

  • Human Trafficking and Exploitation: Human Trafficking and Exploitation, including but not limited to sex trafficking and forced labour, is strictly prohibited on Magma. Any act that encourages or directly participates in human trafficking and exploitation will be removed on Magma and may be reported to relevant authorities. Artistic and written depictions of human Trafficking and exploitation may be allowed, so long as they are informative, educational, or artistic in nature and do not positively promote such actions.

  • Political Funding: Magma may not be used to promote funding for political campaigns or political parties, or groups. However, the promotion of funding for social issues (humanitarian, medical, environmental, etc.) is permitted on the Magma, so long as the group being funded is a legitimate source that requires funding to solve social issues.

  • Weapons and Explosives: Depictions of weapons and explosives are allowed on Magma, but artistic or written depictions teaching others how to manufacture, acquire, or modify weapons or explosives are not allowed.

  • Sexual Solicitation: Magma strictly prohibits any activities involved in sexual solicitation, or the act of promoting or looking for in-person sexual services for compensation, on the site. This includes advertising of sexual services, coordinating the logistics of, or facilitating payments regarding sexual solicitation. However, artistic or written depictions of sexual solicitation are allowed in location-specific settings (See Section 2), so long as the depictions cannot be used for real-world purposes related to sexual solicitation.

  • Sexual Depictions: While Magma does allow mature artworks in location-specific settings (See Section 2), depictions of certain activities are strictly prohibited on the site, regardless of geographic location or whether the piece is in art jams, art spaces, or art desks. Creators, artists, and fans are not allowed to create or view sexual content if they are under the age of 18. If Creators, artists, and fans are above the age of 18, they may be allowed to do so as long as they follow location-specific guidelines (Section 2) and do not depict the following:

    • Bestiality: Creators, artists, and fans are strictly prohibited from depicting bestiality, fictional or otherwise. Bestiality is defined as sexual activities or relationships involving humans and animals. Sexual activity between a human and any real animal, and any depiction of animal genitals, is strictly not allowed on Magma. However, sexual interactions between humans and fictional creatures that are more humanistic than animal-like (i.e. anthropomorphic, bipedal, and/or sapient) and sexual interactions between fictional creatures that are more humanistic than animal-like (furries) are permitted so long as they follow Location-specific guidelines (Section 2).

    • Non-consensual Acts: Creators, artists, and fans are strictly prohibited from creating or depicting works that glorify non-consensual intimate or sexual acts. Artistic or written works that glorify non-consensual acts like rape, sexual assault, or coerced consent are not allowed on the site. Furthermore, works that depict identifiable real-life individuals in intimate or sexual acts are also strictly prohibited without their consent, inclusive of posting real-life images, digital manipulations of existing images, deepfakes, and artistic and written depictions. However, personal stories or artistic depictions of non-consensual acts are permitted, so long as they are for educational or artistic purposes and do not portray the non-consensual acts in a positive light.

    • Incest: Magma strictly prohibits depictions of incest, defined as depictions of sexual activities or intimate relationships between blood relatives or those in their immediate family (siblings, parents, step-siblings, step-parents). Works that depict real or fictional individuals in sexual acts between blood relatives or those in their immediate family are not allowed in artistic or written forms. However, personal stories or artistic depictions of incest are permitted, so long as they are for educational or artistic purposes and do not portray incest in a positive light.

Human Creation and Originality:

  • Copyrights: Art theft, or the act of taking someone’s art and claiming it as your own, is strictly prohibited on Magma. Furthermore, any piece that infringes on existing copyrights (registering existing IPs for remixing, etc.) is not allowed on Magma and will be taken down. Works that reference other pieces of art must clearly mention their reference and provide appropriate credit.

  • AI: AI images on Magma must be used alongside significant human artistic input, must be clearly disclosed, not refer to or emulate other artists' styles without permission, or use models that infringe on artists' rights (for more details on Magma’s AI policy, please see the following: https://magma.com/aimanifesto). Glorification of Violent and Graphic Works:

While artistic depictions of violence are a core part of art, Magma does not allow uploading, sharing, or creating hyperrealistic graphic content depicting real-life violence, gore, or animal cruelty, as it may pose a serious threat to the well-being and mental health of creators, artists, and fans. Any work that praises or incites physical harm that can cause death or severe injury to real-life individuals is also not allowed on Magma.

Exceptions may be made if the content has an artistic or educational purpose, but Magma still reserves the right to moderate content if it is deemed too graphic or shocking.

In general, depictions of violence and gore are permitted on Magma, but the degree of depictions varies by the location where it is shown. For more information, please refer to Section 2. If you are unsure if your content might be too graphic, please contact the team at support@magma.com.

Online Safety:

As Magma is a place that attracts creators, artists, and fans of all ages, maintaining an atmosphere of online safety is important to our platform. Therefore, any actions that could explicitly reveal one’s identity publicly are not allowed on Magma. This is inclusive of public face reveals in public locations, online dating on Magma, and the disclosure of private information in public locations (See Section 2). Furthermore, any written or visual works that may be used to reveal one’s personal identity (photographs of one’s face, posts with someone’s address, etc.) are strictly prohibited in public locations for online safety reasons, though art of yourself or others with their consent is allowed. Exceptions may be made if the individual is already well-known outside of Magma. For additional information, please contact the team at support@magma.com.

Section 2: Location-Specific Guidelines

Magma has a variety of ways for creators, artists, and fans to interact with one another, with varying levels of public exposure. As a result, certain actions that may be allowed in private spaces may not be allowed in public spaces, as a lack of moderation, context, knowledge, or other variables may expose individuals to content that they might find shocking. Magma reserves the right to identify whether content is allowed based on location-specific guidelines and respond with varying levels of severity. Access to mature content requires users to disclose their date of birth, and answering accurately is required to access content. Private spaces might require additional users to additionally verify their age, and verification may either be manual or automatic.

Magma officially recognises the following spaces as private and public. Canvases posted in Public-facing locations outside of Magma (Magma links posted online publicly on X for any users to join, Magma links posted on Linktree, etc.) are considered public due to online safety risks.
